Standards size of bricks (Length x Width x Height) = 9″ x 4.5″ x 3″ but available sizes in market have less dimension due to shrinkage.
Compressive strength of first class bricks should be more than 2000 PSI and its water absorption after 24 hours immersion in water around 15%. Less water absorption shows brick is well burnt. Weight of bricks is around 8 lbs.
Second class bricks have less compressive strength and more water absorption than first class bricks. Third class bricks are either under burnt (Pilla) or over burnt (Khinger Bricks). khinger bricks are mostly used as brick ballast (Rora).
